BLOG #2

so those of you classmates that read my last blog....LOL! you will know that i read the wrong book and wrote the wrong blog! =]
so i erased it and im starting over. SO 2day in lecture we discussed and did a hands on activity about what a circular story is. Dr.Harris read to the class a childrens book titled"If You Give a Mouse a Cookie". Well we were to get into our "home groups" and create our own version of this. With the same set up, but with fill in the blanks and we made a word bank with random words that we called out in class. The question is how do we use it in our classroom, and with other discipline? My answer and opinion to that is say you have a child that is not wanting to read as asked, and you will have those! I would just kick him out..lol jk jk! i would tie in the circular story by letting the child know that in order for he or she to pass the class he must read and if you do not like my rules we can go over the classroom consequences and if not then he or she will lose recess time and while in will do more work or have a parent conference. Notice how i didnt say take himor her to the principle because the principle DOES NOT LIKE for u as a teacher to come to them for minor details, they like to know u are able to handle situations by urself. =]
8some ways we can make reading fun i would say to have a reading center. Such as a reading rug, a library in ur reading area, bean bags, and pillows! Because if i remember ne thing from my reading class i loved to read when we were able to lay on the reading rug and read our book we were assigned or that we were able to pick out if we were good through out the day! That is my in put agree to disagree if u feel...u can its ur opinion! bye guys!

Oh so you were the girl that was in the hall way talking about the wrong blog??? haha, well thanks for helping me out today about the TEKS. I used to like it a lot when the teacher would allow us to bring pillows and blankets to the classroom to read. I remember laying down in a circle with our pillows while the teacher would read to us would be a lot of fun as a child. Great tips

Hi I liked the way Dr. Harris read the book to the class. That is the correct way of reading to students. Walking around and changing tones in your voice will help greatly. I like what you said about the reading stations. I remember to when the teacher would let us move around to a comfortable place to read. There are so many things for us to learn. I feel nervous and I'm not even there yet. lol
